Hayden Hawks grew up running trails in the national and state parks of southern Utah and started working at the St. George Running Center at 16. He attended Southern Utah University on a track scholarship, broke school records, and became a Division 1 All-American (13:51 5K, 28:53 10K). He transitioned to trail running and quickly made an impact with a win at the Speedgoat 50K, a second-place finish at The North Face 50, and a gold medal at the Mountain Running World Championships. In 2017, he won the CCC at UTMB and set the Zion Traverse FKT. He won the Lavaredo Ultra Trail 120K in 2018, the Chuckanut 50K in 2019, and the Black Canyon 100K in 2020. He won the CCC again in 2024, making him a two-time champion. Hawks also founded Hawks Running, a coaching company.
