Courtney Dauwalter grew up in Hopkins, Minnesota, competing in cross-country, track, and Nordic skiing. She attended the University of Denver on a cross-country skiing scholarship, earned a master's in teaching from the University of Mississippi, and taught science in the Denver area before going full-time as a runner. In 2017, she set the women's 24-hour distance record at 155.4 miles during the Riverbank One Day Classic. In 2018, she won Western States 100 in 17:27 and was named Ultra Runner of the Year after winning 9 of 12 races entered. She won UTMB in 2019 (24:34:26), 2021, and 2023 (23:29:14). Her 2023 season was historic: she set course records at Western States (15:29:34) and Hardrock 100, then won UTMB, becoming the first person ever to win all three in a single year. She is known for racing without a coach or formal training plan, an unconventional approach built on feel and consistency.

Trail models use COOLMAX EcoMade fibers in mini-crew, crew, and over-the-calf heights. Significant following among ultrarunners and thru-hikers with chronic blistering issues.
