Emily Harrington completed the Golden Gate route (5.13b, 40 pitches) on El Capitan in 21 hours 13 minutes in November 2020, becoming the first woman to free-climb an El Cap route in a single day. She is a five-time US National Champion in sport lead climbing and was runner-up at the 2005 IFSC World Championships. She summited Mount Everest in 2012 and completed the first free ascent of The American Way on Pik Slesova in 2021.
