Giulia Monego was born in Venice, Italy, and first skied in the Dolomites around Cortina d'Ampezzo at age two. She raced FIS alpine disciplines before transitioning to telemark and then freeride skiing. She won the O'Neill Extreme in Verbier in 2006, the biggest event on the Freeride World Tour. She is one of only a handful of women to complete IFMGA mountain guide certification in Italy. She currently guides off-piste skiing in Verbier through Powder Extreme.
