Flip Pallot grew up fishing the mangrove flats of south Florida and became one of the first anglers to bring saltwater fly fishing to a television audience. His show "The Walker's Cay Chronicles" ran for approximately 16 seasons on ESPN and introduced viewers to the world of bonefish, permit, tarpon, and snook on fly in a style that mixed instruction with reverence for the marine environment. Pallot was also a skilled boat builder, casting instructor, and conservationist who worked on Everglades restoration and fishery management issues throughout his career. He had a signature rod series with Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO) called the Mangrove Coast and helped develop Tibor reels alongside Lefty Kreh. He died on August 26, 2025, at age 83.
