Daron Rahlves was born June 12, 1973, in Walnut Creek, California, and grew up skiing at Lake Tahoe. He won 12 World Cup races, three World Championship medals (including gold in 2001 Super G), seven national titles, and competed in four Olympic Games. After retiring from racing, he transitioned to big mountain skiing, filming with TGR, Sweetgrass Productions, and Warren Miller Entertainment. He launched the Banzai Tour ski-cross race at Palisades Tahoe in 2011; after a decade-long hiatus, the event returns in April 2026.
