Cody Townsend grew up in Santa Cruz, California, and built a career that spans alpine racing, Hollywood stunt skiing, and big mountain competition. He won the Best Line award at the 2014 Powder Video Awards for his famous shot through a narrow spine chute in the MSP Films production "Days of My Youth." In 2018 he launched The Fifty Project, a multi-year YouTube series chronicling his attempts to ski all 50 lines from the book "Fifty Classic Ski Descents of North America." He completed 46 of the 50 lines over five seasons before launching a successor series, The Fifty+, in October 2024.
