Chris Davenport grew up on the East Coast and attended the University of Colorado, where he competed as an alpine downhill racer before winning the 1996 World Extreme Skiing Championships in Alaska. He settled in Aspen and between January 2006 and January 2007 became the first person to ski all 54 of Colorado's 14ers in one year. He authored "Ski the 14ers" and co-authored "Fifty Classic Ski Descents of North America," the book that inspired Cody Townsend's Fifty Project. He was inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and serves as a television commentator for ESPN, ABC Sports, and Outside Television.
