Amity Rockwell won the 2019 Dirty Kanza 200 in a competitive women's field that included national champions and experienced gravel professionals. An endurance athlete who turned to cycling at age 20, she finished second at the renamed Unbound Gravel in 2021 behind Lauren De Crescenzo. In 2020, she published a public letter to DK organizers requesting changes including the name change to Unbound Gravel and a BIPOC athlete-sponsorship program. She also won the 360 km Traka gravel race and founded "Fast Friends," an online community for women and non-binary cyclists.
