Alexandera Houchin

Cyclist
American·b. ~1990
Known for:
Indigenous ultra-endurance bikepacking champion who races on a singlespeed. Holds women's singlespeed records for Tour Divide, Colorado Trail Race (both directions), and Arizona Trail 300.
Sponsored by: Esker Cycles, Cane Creek, Industry Nine, Wolftooth Components, Orange Seal, Dispersed

Alexandera Houchin is a citizen of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and a dominant force in ultra-endurance bikepacking. She did not learn to ride a bicycle until age 20 and within a few years was winning the Tour Divide, the 2,745-mile race from Canada to Mexico. She has finished the Tour Divide at least four times, the Arizona Trail Race three times, and completed the Colorado Trail Race six consecutive times, winning the women's category in 2019, 2021, and 2022 while setting course records on a singlespeed. She holds the Grand Loop female record at 3 days, 3 hours, 58 minutes (2024). Her racing is deeply connected to her Indigeneity, and she works to create pathways for other Indigenous people to explore cultural connections through long-distance bike adventure. Her custom bikes feature medicine wheel designs with spokes in red, yellow, white, and black.
